What is Your Reiki "Style?". Depending on your circumstances and comfort level, I incorporate a combination of holistic healing modalities and tools to enhance the your Reiki experience. Any form of practice outside of Reiki, will only be provided if you give consent. The additional tools and techniques can be a combination of the following: healing tuning forks, crystals, sound therapy, singing bowls, essential oils, cold stone massage therapy, breathing techniques and body movements. The combination of such modalities is to help clear blockages and/or toxicity the mind/body is ready to release. My preference is to play background music that emits therapeutic frequencies to elevate the overall experience of your Reiki session. The music can range from meditational sounds found in nature, to Reiki healing music to Native American Shamanic sounds to Buddhist signing bowls. All the music played has been created with the intention to emit sound waves to lift the vibration of the listener and the environment.
How Many Reiki Sessions are Recommended?. Depending on the severity of what you are challenged by, whether emotional or physical, you may require multiple sessions to help restore the mind/body back into a healthy state. Reiki is a technique that gradually develops upon bringing harmony and balance back into the mind/body. Sessions on a regular basis is encouraged to help live amongst the stresses of everyday life. Four to six sessions on a weekly or biweekly basis is highly recommended when new to Reiki or if you are challenged by a physical or emotional ailment. Self-care maintenance, one to two sessions per month, if you can do more, even better.
What is Your Reiki Process Like?. First, there will be a brief consultation to discuss what you'd like to have addressed and what you'd like to receive from your session. This is also a good time to set an intention, whether aloud or to yourself. I will then explain in details my light hand placements during your therapy and what is required of you to ensure a comforting experience. Any questions you may have will be answered at this time. You'll be asked to put your phone on silent so that your time of self-care remains uninterrupted.
Next, whatever your preference, you will either lay on a massage table or sit on a chair. There will be soothing music in the background. You will remain fully clothed during the session, with the exception of shoes. A blanket will be made available to you.
When the session begins, you'll be asked to close your eyes as I guide you to enter into a relaxed meditative state. I will then take a few minutes in silence to prepare myself for the channeling of Reiki energy. During the session, it's important that you communicate any discomfort you may be experiencing, such as staying in one position for too long. While in session, you will feel a light touch or hand movement inches above the areas being worked on.
By the end of your session, you may feel such great ease and relaxation that it can take a few minutes to adjust getting up and ready to fully engage. You'll be asked to slowly prepare to re-awaken to your surroundings and to slowly get up. You will be served plain water to drink, as it is important to remain hydrated after your session.
Lastly, after a few minutes we will discuss your Reiki experience and any questions you may have about your session. It's important to be thoughtful and not dismissive of the sensations, images or emotions that showed up for you, no matter how nonsensical or unrelated it may seem. You are not required to share, however, voicing your sentiments may provide you with answers you've been looking for. I encourage taking some time to reflect.
After Reiki, you may feel sleepy or tired or very energetic and light, every person's experience and session is unique. I highly recommend, if possible, that you honor whatever you feel and give yourself the freedom and the space to engage as so.
For the following 3 days, Reiki energy remains flowing through you as your body is adjusting to this vibrant energy, giving to you what you need in the moment. Remember to be kind and compassionate to yourself; continue to drink lots of water during that time, make healthy choices and practice mindfulness.
Finale, book your next Reiki appointment and continue your journey into health and wellness!
